Born in 1963, I was raised in a humble ranch style house just northwest of the city of wind-Chicago. I am a self taught writer, painter, photographer, designer, and milliner. In 1980 I ventured out of the family home by verbal force and took up residence in Chicago. After many trips to the east coast I finally made the leap and moved to New York City in 1997. Although back in Chicago now NYC will always be my natural home. She has a magnetic hook on me, one that can not be ignored, she is my relentless lover.
I try to live fairly transparently, my greatest growth and interactions comes through honesty. My words and visions are like draperies puddled loose at the window of my life. Gently pulled back allowing a private peek into my understandings and observations of the world. These are my perspectives based on my past, future and present moments in living. Many of these story’s and images are projected extractions taken from the many dark and light speckled moments of my youth. Tales of addiction and my opinions on recovery. Living a life disjointed by bi-polar disorder, severe depression and gang rape trauma. Life living with HIV in the early days of AZT at a fairly young age of 24 or younger. To now being in the best health of my life. Along with the many twist and turns of my spiritual odyssey and my recent ascent into the realm of self love. And always my passion for people and the beauty to be found within all things around us.
My goal is to be as authentic as possible and to hopefully inspire. My message is simple and repeats itself often. Live, Learn, Love then pass the gift or lesson along.
